This course entitled 'The Wisdom Within' is a course in Practical Philosophy which explores time-tested wisdom and mindfulness techniques and tools from a range of ancient traditions, that you can use everyday to be wiser, happier, more productive and with which you can experience true freedom. The format of the class is interactive where you can discuss the big questions and find what gems are truly ever present and eternally available. Come and discover your real nature!

Philosophy, Mindfulness and Wisdom, why study philosophy and the nature of wisdom. The wisdom within. |

Self-discovery. Self-knowledge. Who or what am I? What is my potential in living? How may I realise that potential? These questions are as old as mankind itself. |

Different levels of mindfulness. What is our usual state of awareness? Are there greater levels of mindfulness? If so, how may we gain access to them? |

Living in the present moment, the now. What is the potential of the present moment? We will consider the power of attention to connect with the present moment. |

What is justice and injustice? What does it mean to live justly? In particular we will look at what Plato has to say on this subject. |

How to understand and use energy well. Can we increase the energy available to us through mindfulness? |

We will consider two practical frameworks for reason. How can reason enrich our lives? How does reason help us to become more mindful? |

What is beauty? What is its purpose? Where does it come from? |

How to see unity in diversity, the common thread of life? |
10 |
How does the desire for truth show itself? How may it be satisfied?
